The bulk of the papers relate to Doderer's activities as an Iowa leglislator, her role as a woman in politics, and her involvement with various women's organizations. The collection also extensively documents the Equal Rights Amendment, abortion rights, International Women's Year, comparable worth legislation, gender and racial discrimination in the court system, and gender equity in insurance.
